Assisted Stretch & Recovery

What is Assisted Stretching?

In these 30 minute sessions, our trainers will help you move safely into stretches and recovery techniques tailored exclusively to your individual needs.

Think of it as PREhab rather than REhab for your body!

Assisted stretching serves as a powerful tool for injury prevention by addressing the structural imbalances and hidden tight spots that often lead to strains or joint pain. When someone else controls the movement, they can safely isolate specific muscle groups, helping your body prevent injuries in three main ways:

  • Eliminates Muscle Imbalances: It corrects asymmetrical tightness, like one hip being tighter than the other, which forces your body to compensate and overwork other muscles.

  • Expands Safe Range of Motion (ROM): By safely pushing your joints past their typical self-stretching limits, it trains your nervous system to handle greater ranges of movement. If you take a sudden misstep or overextend during a workout, your muscles are already conditioned to handle that stress without tearing.

  • Bypasses the Stretch Reflex: When you stretch yourself too hard, your body's natural defense mechanism causes the muscle to contract to protect itself. A trainer can use precise angles and steady, controlled pressure to bypass this reflex, allowing tight muscle fibers to actually lengthen and release tension rather than locking up.

By restoring symmetry and improving tissue elasticity, assisted stretching ensures your joints absorb the impact of daily movement and heavy workouts, rather than your lower back, knees, or shoulders taking the brunt of the force.
